Top Productivity Habits
Your productivity can be improved by focusing on the development of 6 very important habits. These productivity habits will help to boost your overall performance in life. Studies say that it can take a minimum of 21 days to form a habit, but not a difficult one. If you can hold yourself accountable for 21-42/66 days you should be able to make the habit stick for good.

#1 – Follow a Morning Ritual
Successful and productive people follow a morning ritual. Your morning should be focused on your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Exercise, read, meditate, or write. Do something for yourself; The first hour of your day sets the tone for the rest of it. Don’t spend your first-hour scrolling through social media unless it’s a financial app where you are looking for trade setups or relevant news broadcasts. Forget replying to emails, phone calls or anything.

#2 -Set & Review Daily/Weekly Goals
Goal setting should be on everyone’s to-do list, this is a productivity habit that should become ingrained in your mind. Having long and short-term goals is an absolute must. Achieving your goals will give you a boost mentally and help keep you focused. Successful people track their goals with precision as this helps them know where they are, how far they’ve come, and how far they have left to go. When you can see your daily and weekly goals in front of you, it keeps you focused and it’s harder to get distracted.

#3 – Prioritize Daily Tasks
Once you’ve written down your weekly goals, you can create daily tasks that will help you to prioritize what you need to do for the day. Ensure that you use lists and time management techniques for getting things done. Everyone is different in the sense that some like to take down the small frogs and others like to eat the big frogs (a metaphor taken from Brain Tracey’s book “Eat That Frog” ) Personally I would take down the biggest my challenging frog first.

#4 – Take a Rest
If you do not put breaks into your daily plan you will end up getting sidetracked and not focusing on the goals at hand. One of the best productivity habits that you can develop for yourself is to take plenty of breaks throughout the day. I have the attention span of a 3-year-old, no shit, my son probably has more focus than me, so I usually take a 5 min break every 30minutes. The rule of thumb would be to take one 5 to 10-minute break every 2 hours of work but do what works for you.

#5 – Manage Your Energy Levels
While time management is crucial in your daily planning, maintaining your energy levels to keep focused is just as important. Your diet will also have a huge factor in this, so don’t snack on junk food or overeat at lunch as this will no doubt make you sleepy later on. When your energy levels are low, so is your productivity. Eat smaller meals throughout the day and healthy snacks. If you keep your energy levels up you will boost your productivity. #6 – Kick Down Procrastination
Procrastination, wow this one can get me at times. The times I have caught myself messing around doing pointless tasks when I should be focused on the grind. If there are anyone one of these rules to make a habit it is this one! If you want to achieve the success you need to stay focused and not procrastinate. Setting shorter-term goals and or prioritizing your tasks can help with procrastination But, it’s your job to ensure that you snuff out procrastination.
