Self Belief is the first attribute of success. Without true self-belief, you have nothing. You may have dreams, You may have ideas, You may have Goals but they will never be realized if you do not believe in yourself.
Why? Because it’s easier to shelve your dreams and get for work on Monday. If you don’t believe you can do something, you’re not even trying. If you half believe you will put in a piss poor effort. You have to REALLY believe.
What many people do not realize how powerful your mind really is. If you know how to use the power of your subconscious mind to your advantage you have no idea how limitless your life could be.
The best part is that your mind remains flexible throughout your life and it has been proven through studies that we humans do not even use our brains to their full potential. Have you ever wanted to get up early for whatever reason but forgot to set your alarm or you set your alarm but you wake up a few minutes before it goes off. That is the just a tiny part of the power of the subconscious mind.
After reading a few books on the power of the subconscious mind and mindset I have come to a few conclusions on how you can reprogram your mind and use it to your advantage.
You even noticed how some people can just turn dust gold or excel at whatever they decide to do and then others just diddle-daddle and fail at most things. You ever wondered why?
The simple answer is their mindset. The winner and successful people have a better mindset and know exactly how to program their thoughts to get results.
Your subconscious mind never rests according to research from Dr. Marcus Raichle at Harvard University, who believes that “autopilot” thinking can either be a help or a hindrance.
Researchers have found that subconscious thoughts, which are often embedded so deep in our psyche, can be tied to chronic stress and mental illness but also, success.
The theory is known as “The Default Mode Network,” and in his study, The Brain’s Default Network: Anatomy, Function, and Relevance to Disease, Raichle highlights that the constant chatter of subconscious thoughts that are on replay in our minds could lead to disease if they are negative, or success if they are positive.
Below are 5 ways which I have learned that can help reprogram your sub-conscious mind.
1. Visualize The Ultimate Goal
Seeing it in your mind before it happens in the future? Myth or Reality? Experts say that if you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve in the end you have a much better chance at re-programing your sub-conscious mind and achieving that goal. Take the time to paint that picture in your mind, create a vision board so that you see it every day until it becomes second nature in your mind.
Visualize what you want you, write it down, see it, feel it and BELIEVE IT!
2. Set Goals
Goals are the steps you will take on the way to fulfilling what you were dreaming about. They have to be SMART GOALS.
Specific – Be very clear on what it is you want to achieve
Measurable – You need to know once its completed you move onto the next.
Achievable – Needs to be realistic and not outrageous.
Relevant – Needs to be significant to you and have value and meaning behind. Why must you reach this goal?
Time – Time-bound. You must set deadlines or else they are just dreams.
3. Prioritize Your Goals
Once you have set your goals and have your reasons why you need to achieve them you now need to decide which are more important. Which goals will hold more value and which goals you can double up on to hit faster.
Create your action plan to begin hitting those goals and start with the ones you can achieve first or double on to hit 2 or more goals. You will see how this trick can help you do more within a shorter time and reprogram your subconscious mind faster.
Read the book Gary Keller’s book The One Thing to learn about the importance of knowing your priorities and learn all the big ideas such as :

A small dose of discipline develops into a long-lasting habit

Iceberg-ing and living by priority
Goal setting to the now
Time blocking, mastery, and being accountable
the four thieves of productivity
It’s about the journey
4. Have a Positive Mental Attitude
Being negative just holds us back from reaching our true potential. Like attracts like and if you continue to have negative thoughts you will attract more negative outcomes to your life. The saying, think before you speak is crucial to reprograming your sub-conscious mind, analyze your thoughts and make sure you have an optimistic perspective on things.
There are never failures in life, just lessons and if you think like this you will reprogram your subconscious mind to attract more positivity into your life.
5. Use Affirmations
One of the best way to reprogram the subconscious mind is the use of affirmations. You can use affirmations for absolutely anything. The bog standard positive affirmations are said like this, “I can be happy,” “I can achieve the goals I want,” “I will be rich and prosperous one day,” etc. Personally, I like to think big and say it as it has already happened. I am happy, I am achieving my goals, I am rich, I am a good forex trader or I healthy and according to my fitness goals.
Start imagining that the dream you are aiming to fulfill has already come true and live according to that. Start thinking, behaving and acting as if your dream is already true – you have become the person you envisioned you would become when you started out on this journey. This is one of the main ways how to make the subconscious mind work for you.
Make sure that you take the time to review your goals, this will make sure that you stay on point and if you are slacking it will kickstart the fire inside you again.
The subconscious mind is influenced by repetition. In order to reprogram your subconscious mind, you have to walk the walk and commit to a long game. Keep repeating the process until it is like second nature. If you start this process right away, you will have no problem boosting your life and your career.
