During sex, your body produces dopamine, a substance that fights stress hormones, and promotes the endorphins, aka “happiness hormones” and oxytocin, a desire-enhancing hormone secreted by the pituitary gland. Sex and intimacy can boost your self-esteem and happiness, too. It’s not only a prescription for a healthy life but a very happy one so sex helps you reduce the stress in your life.

2. Great for Cardio

It is a well-known fact that making love is a great form of exercise and anyone that says they do not get out of breath or feel great is lying. During intercourse, your heart rate goes through the roof and the physiological changes in your body are consistent with a workout. If you have sex three times a week for a minimum of 15 minutes, ( anything under this time is a rookie time, so you need to pump up the numbers) you’ll burn roughly 7.500 calories in a year and will be having a lot of fun in the process. Deep breathing can raise the amount of oxygen in your blood cells, and the testosterone produced during sex keeps your bones and muscles strong. Sex doesn’t burn as much energy as a non-horizontal workout for most people, either. The oft-cited statistic that “sex burns 100 to 200 calories per session” is more overstatement than science. One study found that most men burn about four calories per minute having sex, compared to more than twice that while jogging, but ill take having sex over jogging any day. Like with exercise, consistency helps maximize the benefits, so keep the fire burning.

Sex helps you burn calories but it can also improve your heart. A good sex life is good for your heart. Besides being a great way to raise your heart rate, sex helps keep your estrogen and testosterone levels in balance.

Having sex more often may help. During one study, men who had sex at least twice a week were half as likely to die of heart disease as men who had sex rarely.

If you suffer from back pain or knee pain it’s probably best not to do any lifting positions and possibly best to consult a doctor.

You ever felt sleepy after a good old session…? That is because the increased heart rate leads to increased post-coital relaxation. Sex can relax you, hence if you are already tired, the act of sex will induce sleep. If you struggle to sleep, then have sex more often.
